CITYWIDE BSU MEMBER OF THE MONTH:

AKEYLA TANKSLEY:

Akeyla is a current Sophomore at Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory, as well as our SF Citywide BSU's graphic designer. "After a full day of speeches and interviews, we are proud and honored to announce that Akeyla, our organization-wide Youth of the Year recipient, is one of just three from across Northern California who will compete at the Statewide Youth of the Year next month! Akeyla competed alongside twelve other candidates today in an intense nine-hour day over Zoom here at the Delue Clubhouse. The judges were incredibly impressed with her story and her dedication to design and social equity here in the Bay Area. We thank her coaches and mentors who have helped her on her journey to writing and giving compelling speeches, essays, and interview answers. We are so proud of Akeyla and all of her hard work, and we look forward to the bright future that lays ahead of her. Join us as we celebrate her accomplishments, and stay tuned as we prepare for her appearance at the California Statewide Youth of the Year Competition next month! Thank you for your support and your investments into the bright futures of our young people!" Congratulations Akeyla!
