Alexis corazon Rodriguez, executive director
Alexis is an African American community organizer and activist from San Francisco, California. Alexis is the definition of perseverance in the face of adversity, she is a product of the environment that she so passionately uplifts. Because of this, her advocacy has no limits.
As Executive Director, Alexis aims to support Black youth in their ventures and creativity, and combat hardships that the Black community faces such as homelessness, food insecurity, and violence.
Alexis additionally advocates for Black lives as Vice President of the NAACP, and as a State Senator for Black Students of California United. She also fights for student rights as a Student Advisory Council Member for XQ America, where she works to rethink high school education with educators and new school innovators, and serves as a role model for youth as a Counselor with the Mayor’s Youth Employment and Education Program.
Upon acceptance to The School of Ethics and Global Leadership, Alexis spent a semester studying abroad at The African Leadership Academy located in Johannesburg, South Africa. This opportunity allowed her to participate in a unique cultural exchange in engagement with students from all over Africa. She was enrolled in a unique curriculum that emphasized ethical thinking skills, leadership development, and political awareness all taught through a pan-African lens. She finds vital importance in the capability to dissect complex ideas now to prepare herself to create lasting, positive change later. Alexis hopes to study Political Sciences and Africana Studies at Howard University and pursue a career as an International and Human Rights Lawyer.
