bridging the gap: afro feminism/protect black women

Citywide's project, Bridging the Gap, was organized in partnership with students and teachers from The African Leadership Academy. Bridging the Gap is a two part series made to discuss multiple aspects of African and African American cultures, and appropriate ways to allow the two to intersect. This open conversation will allow for questions, philosophies, and personal experiences to all be shared and respected in a safe space. Part 1 of this series was be focused around Cultural Appropriation and Identity, and Part 2 of this series was focused around Afro Feminism and Protect Black Women.

citywide giveback: food and supply outreach

The Bay Area has the third largest population of people experiencing homelessness in the United States. San Francisco Citywide BSU works to prioritize consistent outreach to support our houseless neighbors in their fight against food insecurity as well as unaffordable housing. We collaborate with numerous organizations and vendors to feed and supply our community.

Citywide annually throws a Graduation ceremony to celebrate the achievements and futures of Seniors that have been involved in our collaborative.

Thanks to 100% College Prep, members of our Citywide BSU had the honor of watching Hamilton live on Broadway! Following the amazing performance, we got to enjoy dinner with Dre Woods, Hamilton, and Tiffany Mellard, Bullet Girl. We are so thankful for the opportunity!
